MILANODONNA prize is dedicated to women who contributed to the cultural and social growth of the city of Milan. There are two generations of women that are celebrated during the ceremony: the old generation, for their great accomplishments, and the new generation, for their potential. The M of Milan, shaped in a sinuous way, symbolizes the bridge between the talents of two generation of women. Without a base, it can be held by two people simultaneously to celebrate the passage, like a baton in a relay race. M can beautifully sit on a desk and not necessarily in a trophy display. The trophy is made of a brushed shell casted aluminum. The prize was consigned for the first time by the Mayor of the City of Milan, Letizia Moratti, during a ceremony held in the Sala delle Cariatidi in Milan on March 2007. The City of Milan is using this trophy for the yearly celebrations of MILANODONNA.
Il premio MILANODONNA e' dedicato alle donne che hanno contribuito alla crescita culturale e sociale della Città di Milano. Vengono celebrate due generazioni di donne, la generazione precedente, per il contributo, e la nuova generazione per il potenziale. La M di milano, con una forma affusolata e femminile, simboleggia il ponte tra i talenti delle due generazioni di premiate. Puo' essere afferrata da due persone contemporaneamente per sottolineare il passaggio, come il testimone di una staffetta. Il trofeo e' realizzato tramite una fusione di alluminio in conchiglia che viene poi spazzolata per renderla lucida. Il premio e' stato consegnato per la prima volta dal sindaco di Milano, Letizia Moratti, durante la cerimonia nella Sala delle Cariatidi nel Marzo 2007. La citta' di Milano usa questo trofeo ogni anno per le celebrazioni del premio MILANODONNA.
