Blow is a lighting system for pedestrian areas that moves with the wind, decorating the skyline during the day and projecting moving shadows at night. The objective is to make public areas confortable and intimate, using the light to create a new motivation lo live the city, in particular at night. We want to turn the city-dweller into a spectator and use the light as a choreographic element to create a relaxed and entertaining atmosphere. We also aimed to design a lamp that nicely integrates with the skyline during the day. Blow can be suspended or mounted over a pole. The lampshade rotates thanks to a self lubricating bearing in Vesconite, a specialized thermoplastic made from internally lubricated polymers, with low friction and long life. |
